State Patrol Investigating Fatal Wreck
Monday, 19 January 2009

January 19--  The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the Friday afternoon accident which killed a married couple from Soperton.  The Patrol Post in Swainsboro says a Special Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) will try to determine what happened at the Swainsboro Bypass intersection of Highway 56 and Georgia Highway 4.

The accident killed 70-year-old Jack Holton, Sr. and his 74-year-old wife, Grace.  Their vehicle and a Walmart tractor-trailer collided.  The driver of the truck was not injured.

Their deaths brought to three the number of people killed in area auto accidents last week.  The State Patrol in Reidsville says 30-year-old Daniel Perry of Baxley died in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. One north of Baxley January 13th.
