February 5--In area high school basketball action Tuesday night, the VHS Indians won a pair of games on the road at Bacon Co. The Lady Indians winning, 61-46.The Lady Indians took control of the game early, and led 17-5 at the end of the 1st period, and 29-20 at the half. in the second half the Lady Indians pulled away for the win. Trinity Hamm Scored 18 points to lead in scoring.Chassidy Byrd had 11 points, and China Hodge had 10 points. The Lady Indians are now 14-10 for the year and 4-3 in the sub-region.

The #2 ranked VHS Indians boys team won by 11 points, 54-43. The Indians led 12-7 at the end of the 1st period, and struggled in the 2nd period, and were tied up at the half, 25-25. The Indians pulled away in the 2nd half and were led in scoring by Raemeal Thompkins with 14 points, and Raekwon Reed with 12 points. The Indians  are now 23-1 for the year, and 9-0 in the region.

The Toombs Co Bulldogs split a pair of games on the road with Atkinson Co,  The Lady Bulldogs winning 65-48. Deavia Howard had 26 points in the win. The Toombs Co boys losing, 74-60. Tomond Hampton had 31 points in the loss.

The Montgomery Co Eagles split their games with the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets in Hazlehurst. The Lady Eagles losing, 36-22. Sharanda Johnson scored 11 points in the loss. The Montgomery Co Eagles boys winning ,64-53. Torrez Travis led the way with 19 points.

The Treutlen Vikings split their pair of games with the ECI Bulldogs, in Twin City. The Lady Vikings winning, 42-31. Jasmine Howard led the way with 17 points.In the boys game, the ECI Bulldogs winning, 68-61. Johnathan Madison had 17 points in the loss.

The RTCA Crusaders won both games at home against Twiggs Academy. The Lady Crusaders 49-23. Sydni Collins led the scoring with 13 points. The boys winning, 73-52. Rico Rogers was the leading scorer with 30 points.
