January 22--The Vidalia Wrestling team competed in a tri-meet last Friday losing to Metter 39 to 31, forfeiting five weight classes. Metter won two out of seven actual matches wrestled. Chance Butler (106) won by forfeit. Reggie Lamb (132) won 4 to 3 in his first match of the year. Darnell Hendley (145) won by technical fall 15 to 0. Daniel Wright (195) won by pin. Daniel Copeland (220) won by forfeit. Shakeem Lassiter (285) won by pin. Nick Beale (285) won by pin. The Indians then defeated Treutlen County 22 to 21 after having to go to the eighth tie breaking criteria. Anitquell Barras (184) won 5 to 2. Daniel Wright (195) won by pin. Daniel Copeland (220) won by pin. Shakeem Lassiter (285) won by forfeit.
The Indian Wrestling team finished eighth on Saturday at the Brantley Bash in Nahunta, Georgia. Tyler Campbell (132) finished second place with 1 pin. Shakeem Lassiter (285) finished third with 2 pins. Anitquell Barras (184) finished fourth. Daniel Wright (195) finished fourth with 3 pins. Other Indians wrestling were Darnell Hendley (145) with 2 pins, Daniel Copeland (220) with 1 win, and Reggie Lamb (138). The Indians will next wrestle at the Sweet Onion Tournament this weekend.
