January 18--The East Ga State College Bobcats Men's Basketball Team, in Swainsboro is having an outstanding year, with a 16-1 record. The Bobcats compete in the GCAA conference, where they are 8-0.

" We are off to a good start, and we have a good group of young men who have been working real hard, we hope to continue this on and be ready for the state and national tournaments. We have some outstanding players, Jordan Johnson is leading the conference in scoring averaging 21 points a game, our point guard Trey Heygood is averaging 14 points a game, and leading the country in assists  and steals, both of those guys have been conference players of the week. Brian Byrd from Montgomery Co High School has been playing really well for us, he has done a great job on the defensive end." Head Coach Neil Bailey said.

" We have a tough road game this Saturday at Ga Perimeter and if we can get through that Wednesday night the 23rd in Swaisboro we will be playing the 11th ranked Chattahoochee Golden Eagles, they are also undefeated and 10-0 in our conference, that is going to be a big game for first place and we are really looking forward to that opportunity, it should be a great game." Bailey said.
