January 17--The VHS Indians Wrestling Team is going to be busy this weekend, first on Friday the team will host a duals meet with the Treutlen Vikings, and the Metter Tigers. Then on Saturday the team will compete in the Brantley Co Bash.

" We have Treutlen and Metter coming in on Friday, Treutlen has been real good about coming over the past couple of years on Friday, and Metter is trying to rebuild it's program. The meet will be at the Darby Gym, because we have basketball games at the high school gym, and it starts at 5:00pm." Coach James Ferry said

" Then on Saturday we are going to go down and see coach Davis at Nahunta at the Brantley Co Bash, they put on a nice little one day, twelve team tournament, and we feel that we can be better competative at with the kids we have, and the stage we are in with the program. Last year we had two kids to win it, Jacob Copeland finished first and is now graduated, and Daniel Copeland who is only a junior this year finished second. We are looking forward to going down there." Ferry stated.

" Everything is looking great at VHS, we wish our numbers were up a little bit more, but like I tell the kids its a hard sport, its a sport I have been involved in for thirty years, so if practice is not hard the competitions aren't going to go the way you want. We try to make practice hard but fun, and the kids seem to have a good time, and then it makes it where they can be more competative at the matches. We have a young team with only one senior so we feel like we are going to make a big push in the next several years to get wrestling back to the level it was back in the day when Coach Proctor was running things." Ferry said.
