February 10--Mr. Ralph Wilson, age 81, of Lyons, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, and lived in Lyons most of his life. He was a plumber all of his life, was the owner/operator of W.B.T. Plumbing, and was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local #72. He served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Esther Kirkland Wilson; and two brothers, Charles Wilson and Carlis Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Ruth Wilson of Lyons; three children, Dewey Batton and wife Melissa, Bonnie Stanford and husband Carl, and Libby Cannady and husband Jared, all of Lyons; one brother, Ronald Wilson and wife Carolyn of Lyons; one sister, Patsy Richey and husband Don of Augusta; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
